EEOC Workshops Scheduled
Today's update deals with some workshops being offered by the EEOC that may be of interest to employers with 15 to 100 employees. President Bush implemented his New Freedom Initiative on May 23, 2002. As part of the successful implementation of that initiative, the EEOC is conducting free workshops across the nation for businesses with 15 to 100 employees. The purpose of the workshops is to inform about tax incentives and community resources focused on encouraging employment of the disabled. To see a schedule of the workshops and get contact information, please visit Scheduled Workshops.
Speaking of AIRS, they're offering four SearchLabs in September at half price on a first-come, first-served basis. The dates are:
September 5th
September 9th
September 12th
September 19th
To reserve your seat, call Kris Beinder at 800-466-4010 or visit the website.
Entrance exams are coming up and it's a good idea to start preparing for them now. Check the calendar for some of the dates. Others that are significant in October are:
October 5 - LSAT (Law School Admissions Test)
October 12 - SAT I and SAT II (College Entrance Exams)
October 15 - PSAT (College Entrance Exam)
October 19 - PSAT and OAT (Optometry Admission Test)
Incidentally, Kaplan is offering students a chance to win $25,000 towards their first year of grad school. The sweepstakes runs from August 15th to October 31st. For more details, click the link: Win $25,000 for grad school!
Remember! The ER Expo 2002 East in Atlanta on October 9-11, 2002. You'll definitely want to be there if you're a recruiter. Don't believe me? Check the Conference Agenda.
Here's what David Manaster says you can expect:
"Once again we'll be covering a wide range of crucial topics for this era in recruiting. And that's not all. In response to attendee feedback from previous shows, we've added a series of "paired" breakout sessions for a number of key general sessions, including sessions on
metrics, sourcing, and workforce planning. The goal of these breakout sessions is to take the broader concepts covered in the general sessions and show you how they can be applied in practice and implemented within your organization. You'll walk away with the specific tools you need to put the ideas you learn at ER Expo 2002 East to work!"

Greetings Dear Readers!
First, let me say it's a pleasure to continue serving your career and recruiting interests. The site is going through some changes, as you may have already noticed.
Hmm. Am I repeating myself? Yes, I am. Since August 5 there have been even more changes and happenings. And the news that went out that day didn't reach everyone, so it's repeated at the end of this update.
First, Career and Executive Recruiting Advice (affectionately known as "CERA") has moved to a new site. Please update your bookmark. The column is in the process of being migrated. What's there now? Quite a bit that is of
interest to you.
The Career Center is alive and active and ready to serve your job or recruiting search needs. It still contains the valuable resources for making certain you have a successful search campaign.
The Bulletins : Calendar are also live and active on CERA and constantly being updated. Check the Bulletins. There are quite a number of new publications and notices that are certain to be helpful to most of you. Also check the Calendar. An easy month's view of activities are available to you. They include conferences, tradeshows, webinars and e-seminars, and many other valuable networking opportunities.
Remember to stop by the Virus Alerts Center as well. There are some new viruses and repetitions of some old ones as well as new forms of old hoaxes. A stop in the Virus Alerts Center will bring you up to date on what's happening so that you can make certain your data and presentation materials are safe from harm.
And while you, my loyal subscribers, are in the Virus Alerts Center, make certain you download your own free SecurityCenter from McAfee. With the SecurityCenter, you'll be aware of what's afoot about the Net.
Executive Recruiting Entrances is now being migrated to its new host. It will also be reconstructed and the
relaunch should happen sometime next month. For now, the url will take you to the web business card.
The related sites, Career Coach
Corner and Recruit and Retain.net are also undergoing some revisions pending their relaunch. So clicking on the links to those sites will also take you to their web business cards.
