Enterprise Wireless Forum Conference & Expo, Boston, MA

Entrance exams are coming up and it's a good idea to start preparing for them now. Check the calendar for some of the dates. Others that are significant in October are:

October 5 - LSAT (Law School Admissions Test)
October 12 - SAT I and SAT II (College Entrance Exams)
October 15 - PSAT (College Entrance Exam)
October 19 - PSAT and OAT (Optometry Admission Test)

   Greetings Dear Readers!

Another week gone by and now an anniversary we simply don't really want. It's okay. Out of adversity comes new knowledge and strength. Out of these come growth.

Many will be recognizing September 11 in different ways as is appropriate for their needs. A few sites where the thoughts of others will be available are:

CERA/Entrances will host a 30-minute chat (see index page for link) at 11 a.m. PDT. Job seekers, recruiters and HR pros are welcome to come and discuss ways to assess our resources in order to use what we have to strategize for a successful search under our present circumstances.

Speaking of present circumstances, some of the issues that are bombarding us almost daily are trust and confidence in corporations and leadership, economic conditions, security, and tools for advancement.

Education is not far in the background among those considerations. News says our redoubled efforts at overcoming dismal high school exit and SAT exam scores are showing signs of success. Our latest crop of high school graduates are producing better scores.

And now for more of the offerings in this update.

  •   There will be many different ways of recalling the events of September 11, 2001. Everyone has a different way of dealing with the same circumstances. No one way is wrong nor absolutely right for everyone. However after considering the various moods, there will be three different aspects of addressing the issues of the day via CERA/Entrances.

    Three commentaries that echo the feelings will be republished that day:

    • When All About You Are Losing Their Heads - the response to September 11
    • Perception - reflections on the loss and meaning of life
    • Having a Dream - a tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
    Also republished on CERA that day will be all of the articles in the "Survivor" series.

    Finally at 11 a.m. PDT, there will be a 30-minute chat for those who would like to use the time proactively to discuss how to evaluate the strengths and resources they have after surviving these times and how to use those remaining resources for new growth and career search strategies.

    Job candidates, recruiters and HR pros are welcome. However, please keep in mind that this is a networking opportunity and a time for talking with others about constructive ways to rebuild. No solicitations will be allowed during the chat.
